Our Message to Livewire Employees Concerning the COVID-19 Virus

This time is all about communicating and we’re posting this email sent internally to let you know how we keep our team informed…

Good afternoon Livewire team,

Livewire cares about you and about your family, and we want to do everything we can to ensure that all of you stay healthy and safe. Richmond and the surrounding areas are becoming increasingly concerned about the COVID-19 virus. Many local events have been cancelled and universities and hospitals are taking every precaution to avoid or contain outbreaks. Being in the service industry, we cannot avoid people, but we should take precautions to prevent the spread of this virus.

  • How the coronavirus spreads:

    • According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the coronavirus  is largely spread through respiratory droplets from coughing and sneezing, and it seems to spread easily. It may also be possible to become infected by touching a contaminated surface or object and then touching one’s nose or mouth.

  • Precautions we should be taking in the office and in the field:

    • Shield coughs or sneezes with tissues or other barriers. Do not use bare hands.

    • Wash hands often or use an alcohol based sanitizer and avoid touching your nose or mouth.

    • Limit shaking hands and stay 6 feet back from people, even if they don’t look sick.

    • We do not want to put any of our employees in harm’s way. Avoid contact with people who appear to be sick. This includes customers, vendors, delivery drivers, fellow employees and anyone you come into contact with during your day.

  • Be Proactive:

    • When calling ahead to confirm appointments, ask the client if everyone in their household (or office for commercial) are feeling okay and let them know you are taking precautions to not become sick or spread germs to others.

    • Take a few moments to review the Steps to Prevent Illness by the CDC.

  • Limiting contact:

    • We encourage moving meetings from in-person to online using Google Meet. We are moving all company meetings online for the foreseeable future.

    • If in-person meetings are necessary, be certain to take precautions like washing your hands and wiping down surfaces with antibacterial to avoid spreading germs.

    • Work remotely to avoid coming to the office unnecessarily if your position allows. Seek guidance from your manager if you’re not sure.

  • When you should stay home:

    • Stay home if you have any respiratory symptoms (coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath) or a temperature above 100.4F.

    •  Keep your manager informed if you have any symptoms developing or if you suspect that you’ve been exposed to the virus.

Above all else, take precautions to stay healthy but don’t panic. We will continue to monitor this situation closely. Please know that we will continue to take any and all measures necessary to ensure the well-being of our employees, their families, and our clients. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
