Livewire’s Technician Training Center Makes an Impact

Livewire has been long synonymous with high-end technology installations, but that’s no coincidence. You don’t get to where we are today without significant investment in technician training, and that’s no more evident than within the Livewire Training Center.

The Training Center offers Livewire technicians the opportunity to hone their craft and practice with new technology and tools. However, that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Through a long-term partnership with ProSource, the training center also serves as a companion to the online training platform ProSource University. Students from all over the country travel to Central Virginia for technician training courses held on-site.

“We learned a lot during the pandemic, especially how much training factors into an employee’s chances of success at any company,” said Henry Clifford, Livewire’s CEO. “We’re excited to host students at the training center, and hope other technology integrators will consider this a “must-do” first step on any new employee’s journey.”

In addition to vocational training, students are appraised using a holistic approach. We also send a report card back to the employer documenting values fit, personality, and other intangibles which are incredibly important in a high-touch vertical like custom installation.

“The academy will enable any ProSource integrator to now consider much less experienced candidates, broadening their selection criteria wider than ever before,” said Clifford. “This is about as close as our industry can get to the ‘NFL camp tryout’ process.”
